Nicole’s House is seeking its next Executive Director.

This is an opportunity to lead a Christ-centered recovery ministry serving women as they rebuild their lives through faith, accountability, and practical support.

We are looking for a relationship-driven leader who can:

• Build relationships with donors, churches, businesses, and community partners
• Develop and lead a sustainable fundraising strategy
• Strengthen staff leadership and organizational operations
• Partner effectively with the Board of Directors
• Represent the mission of Nicole’s House throughout Northwest Arkansas

This is a full-time, in-person leadership position based in Northwest Arkansas. Compensation starts at $80,000 annually.

We are excited to share that our Founder/Principal, Mike Williams, completed BoardSource's Certificate of Nonprofit Board Consulting program!

Over three intensive days, the cohort explored the role consultants can play in helping boards strengthen governance, clarify roles, build healthier board–staff partnerships, improve meetings and decision-making, engage more meaningfully in fundraising and strategy, and ultimately lead with greater purpose.

One concept Mike is really excited about is BoardSource’s framework for Purpose-Driven Board Leadership. Boards should not simply listen to staff reports and rubber stamp action items. Their highest priority should be to gain clarity and remain focused on the larger purpose tied to the mission and the community impact they exist to serve.

We are looking forward to integrating these tools, frameworks, and insights into our work with you all.

Better boards help build stronger nonprofits. And stronger nonprofits build thriving communities.

Back to School: Adult Edition!

Mike, here. I am taking the BoardSource Certified Nonprofit Board Consultant Certificate Course this week.

I love how they are reframing the way nonprofit boards think about their roles in the organization!

Too often, the question in the boardroom becomes:

"What's best for our organization?"

Purpose-driven governance asks a bigger question:

"What's best for the outcome we're trying to create?"

This really resonates with me and the season I'm in walking alongside my clients.

A board's responsibility must extend beyond preserving an organization. It is to steward its mission and resources on behalf of the community it exists to serve.

Strong governance requires more than budgets, bylaws, policies, and oversight. It requires boards to think strategically, understand the ecosystem around them, listen to the communities affected by their decisions, and continually reconnect their decisions to purpose.

That's the kind of board leadership I want to continue helping my clients develop.

I'm looking forward to taking what I'm learning this week and putting it to work alongside the nonprofit leaders and boards I have the privilege of serving.
