Once the trick-or-treaters head home, the good chocolate comes out.

A square of dark chocolate with a pinch of sea salt brings out the plum and cocoa in our Napa Valley Merlot. A quiet Halloween pour for the grown-ups.

One more harvest in the books, in our 50th year.

The last Cabernet Sauvignon came in on October 12. “2026 was an early season from the start,” says Head W**emaker Renée Ary. A warm February and March brought early budbreak, and picking began in late July.

“There was a lot of concentration in the fruit, but still really nice freshness and balance.”

Merlot was a highlight. “It’s the variety that started everything for us,” Renée says, “and fifty years later it’s still at the heart of what we do.”

Long before Duckhorn Vineyards began, Dan and Margaret welcomed friends into their home to open bottles, share stories, and enjoy w**e together. Those gatherings in the early 1970s helped inspire what Duckhorn would become.
