Aonair Winery & Caves

Aonair Winery & Caves BY APPOINTMENT ONLY After spending his entire career in the wine business, Grant Long, Jr. Not that he would know much about relaxing these days.

has settled into his role as sole proprietor at Aonair as easily as one relaxes into an easy chair after a long day. For Grant, it all began when he made that first barrel in his parent’s garage while in college. From there he went to work as the Sales & Marketing Director at Reverie Winery on Diamond Mountain, and most recently as the winemaker at “g” Wine Cellars. Grant’s focus now is on handcra

fting rich, premium wines for Aonair (pronounced: ā-ō-nair). He uses only the best grapes, in limited barrel quantities, and his wines consist of bold vintages, primarily sourced from the rocky volcanic hillside vineyards of Napa Valley. For Grant, it is not about quantity, but quality. Everything about making wine is personal for Grant. From the way the grapes are chosen, to the way they are pressed and fermented. In effect, personally watching a wine go from raw to real is of primary importance. The Aonair crest has personal significance as well, originating from Grant’s proud Irish heritage. Aonair Wines are identified by the Coat of Arms of the Hannigan clan. Appropriately enough, the word Aonair is Gaelic for “one man” and it reflects the choice Grant has made as a true artisan, one who believes mass-production is better suited for other industries, not winemaking. As our Wine Club members will attest, Aonair Wines are extremely limited in production. We invite you to be part of the Aonair family. As Father’s Day nears - a time of family and celebration - we wanted to share the passing of Grant Long Sr.

More than anyone, he was woven into the fabric of our history at both Aonair and Reverie. Many of our longtime supporters had a chance to meet him, and if you did, you too know just how much he loved his time at the wineries. His energy was magnetic, his storytelling something of lore, and above all he loved people.

Our Dad’s Block Storytellers Reserve, a single-vineyard wine from the Aonair Winery Estate, is our forever tribute to him and to all fathers.

This Father’s Day, we invite you to raise a glass of wine in honor of a truly special husband, father, grandfather, and wine enthusiast whose spirit touched so many lives.

With both sadness and gratitude for the memories,

Grant, Megan, and Our Entire Winery Family

In Honor of Grant Long Sr. (1945-2026) ❤️

MEMBER EXCLUSIVE

ONE-TIME-ONLY RELEASE

2023 Sangiovese

Stags Leap Vineyard, Napa Valley

This wine beautifully reflects the character of the Stags Leap District. Nestled low on the valley floor, the vineyard benefits from steady cooling breezes and evening fog, creating a long growing season marked by warm days and crisp nights. This gradual ripening provides both depth and vibrancy, honoring this renowned region’s history of producing some of the most distinguished Sangiovese in Napa Valley. As Sangiovese is one of the rarest grapes grown in the Valley, this is one release not to be missed.
