🍇 Rockhound Wine didn’t show up to play by the old rules. We launched with a simple idea: make seriously exciting wines and ignore the preconceived notions that tell you what Pinot Noir “should” be. The 2022 Rockhound Pinot Noir from Sta. Rita Hills is our proof in the glass—intense, expressive, and shaped by a site that makes the vines work for every berry.

This wine comes from Radian Vineyard, perched on the edge of the Sta. Rita Hills, where cold Pacific winds and diatomaceous earth soils keep yields tiny and flavors concentrated. The organically farmed vines push out small clusters packed with dark blue fruit, spice, and energy. We co-fermented three classic Burgundian clones—115, 667, and 777—in one tank to build a seamless, silky texture and a hedonistic, layered palate.

In the glass, you’ll pick up deep blue and black fruits, warm strawberry, and a balsamic lift that keeps everything fresh. On the palate, think brambleberry pie, a touch of confection, and a finish laced with dark chocolate and coffee nibs. Nineteen months in hand-picked French oak (60% new) adds structure and polish without muting the vineyard’s voice.
