This past week, AgileRadioCom’s radio hardware took its first flight aboard the Modovolo Lift—a major milestone for AgileRadioCom and an exciting collaboration for both teams.

AgileRadioCom develops AI-driven software-defined radio (SDR) technology that adapts in real time to mission demands. Modovolo’s modular platform provides a flexible way to bring that technology into the air for real-world testing.

The flight exceeded expectations, validating the radio in flight conditions and providing valuable data for future iterations. It also demonstrated what the Lift was built for: one adaptable platform supporting a growing range of payloads and missions.

Thank you to both teams, including Justin and Doug, for making this milestone possible. We’re excited to keep building and flying together toward reliable, mission-ready systems.

We had an amazing time at DARPA Lift Challenge (DLC) with Team #81 ATLAS(Modovolo Inc., University of Buffallo).
Our design included 30 motors and propeller on a repeting aluminum frame braced with bulsa wood.
The objective of the challenge made our team leave no stone unturned when it came to cutting weight from our aircraft.
The resulting design was extremly capable and tought us many things, moving forward from the challenge we are continuing to develop modular, optimized and highly capable aircraft.
