Happy Mandela Day folks. My heart is so awake to what this day means. It's message talks to 3 of my favorite definitions of Leadership:
1. The ability to create an enabling environment for others to live in dignity.
2. The ability to influence positively for people to reach their potential and thrive.
3. Leadership IS Stewardship - leaving people, nature, systems, the economy, heritage and culture better than we found it.

If what you do contributes to the leadership impact as captured in these definitions keep going. If not, SELF-CORRECT with URGENCY. THERE IS NO TIME.

As we celebrate Freedom Day in South Africa....

While every leader is not "responsible" for people's freedom, every leader's position is so crucial. A leader is placed responsible for managing the valve that allows or stifles the flow of OXYGEN for the SOULS of those they lead.

My wish for all of us who are leaders today is to stop describing how to manage the valve for allowing the flow of OXYGEN to the SOUL, and to just consciously, deliberately and intentionally ALLOW OXYGEN to flow to keep many, many souls ALIVE.

My wish for all of us today is to keep working towards a world where everyone belongs, is supported to succeed, feels safe and is acknowledged for the contribution they make. In my heart, I imagine that this would deliver HARMONY and LOVE. Experienced by ALL!
