What a wonderful night at the recent Business Excellence Awards hosted by the Busselton Chamber of Commerce. The event was held at beautiful Aravina Estate in Metricup.

Business Advisor Ips Sana Turnock represented the SBDC Regional team to present the IPS Management Consultants sponsored award to the winning sole trader finalist. In 2026, it went to Boudica Criminal Law. Congratulations to Lana and the team.

THE PHP SECURITY FLAW!
Have a WIX, SQUARE, SQUARESPACE, or WEEBLY website? Good news!

You may have seen recent reports about AI discovering a security vulnerability in PHP, the programming language used by WordPress.

If your website is built with Wix, Square, Squarespace or Weebly, there's no need to worry. These platforms do not use PHP.

But what if you have a WORDPRESS website?

WordPress uses PHP, so it's worth checking whether your website could be affected. Here's what you should do:

• Make sure your PHP version is supported and up to date.
• Update WordPress, themes and plugins.
• Remove any plugins you no longer use.
• Check that you have a recent website backup.

Not sure how to do this? Contact your website developer or hosting provider and ask them to check.

Remember, a PHP vulnerability doesn't automatically mean your WordPress website is at risk.

But it is critical for your website's security, that you keep all your Wordpress software, Plugins and Widgets updated at all times.
