We shared insights into the pathways available, the subjects and qualifications that can help them succeed, and the opportunities a career in accounting can offer.

📢 Payday Super Starts Next Week

From 1 July, superannuation must be paid at the same time as employee wages, making cash flow and payroll planning more important than ever for business owners.

⚠️ Now is the time to review your contractor arrangements. Many businesses assume that contractors with an ABN are responsible for their own super, but that's not always the case. If you're paying a contractor mainly for their labour, you may still have super obligations.
✅ Review your contractor agreements
✅ Identify contractors who may be eligible for super
✅ Update payroll and payment processes
✅ Ensure your cash flow can support more frequent super payments

📢 Reminder for Business Owners

With the Fair Work Commission's minimum wage increases taking effect from 1 July 2026, now is the time to review your employee pay rates and payroll settings.

⏰ There are just 8 business days remaining (excluding the Show Holiday) to ensure wages are updated, and your business is ready for the new financial year.

✅ National Minimum Wage increasing to $26.44 per hour
✅ Modern Award minimum wages increasing by 4.75%
✅ Changes apply from the first full pay period on or after 1 July 2026

Don't leave it until the last minute; set aside some time this week to review employee wages, check award rates, and make any necessary adjustments to stay compliant.
