🌏International E-Waste Day is 14 October!🔌

Time to check those drawers and cupboards for unwanted electronics!

Did you know…
New Zealand generates up to 101,000 tonnes of e-waste every year, but only around 2% is recycled!

This year’s focus is Fast Tech, the small, inexpensive electronics that quickly become waste. Before tossing them, think repair, reuse or recycle!

Bring your unwanted e-waste to Tāmaki Zero Waste Hub and chat with our team about drop-off options and any associated charges.

Let’s keep valuable resources in use and out of landfill!

🪡🧵 GIVE YOUR OLD FAVOURITES A SECOND CHANCE! ♻️🛠️

Our Repair Café is back, and this time we’re proud to be part of Repair Festival 2026! 🇳🇿♻️🎉

Got something broken, damaged or in need of a little TLC? Bring it along and our awesome repairers will see what they can do. Clothing, appliances, furniture, toys, electronics and those random things you just can’t bring yourself to bin.

Repair is about more than fixing things. The Right to Repair movement is helping give people the skills and support to keep their stuff in use for longer and challenge our throwaway culture🌏♻️

Want to get involved? We’d love to hear from you! If you’re keen to volunteer at our Repair Café, send us a message!

♻️ He kupu Māori mō ā tātou mahi. Māori words for our mahi.

It's Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, so we're celebrating some of the kupu that connect with the mahi we do every day.

♻️ Hangarua — recycle

🔄 Whakamahi anō — reuse

🌿 Para kore — zero waste

These ideas are at the heart of our mahi: keeping useful materials in circulation, giving things another life, and reducing what ends up in landfill.

This week, give one of these kupu a go
