Since 1994, Wither Hills has been shaped by where it stands. Named after our piece of New Zealand, on Marlborough’s Wither Hills, where the earth meets open sky and the land gives way to the Pacific Ocean beyond.

The Benmorven vineyard sits at the very base of the Wither Hills, sheltered from the easterly by a grassy knoll; the site has its own unique microclimate. Planted in 2000, it’s spent 25 years developing its character and today produces Chardonnay that only comes from this one corner of Marlborough.

Since 2009, we’ve been quietly restoring the Rarangi Wetlands, part of the largest freshwater complex in the Wairau Plains, right within our own vineyard.

Each year, our team takes a day away from the cellar to keep planting.

We love observing the change, as native wildlife is slowly returning.
