Goldfields in hand, the moment settles.

Elegant, expressive, and made for evenings that unfold gently, Goldfields Pinot Noir reflects the quiet richness of Central Otago and the care behind every bottle.

Once, this land was prized for the gold hidden beneath its surface. Today, it offers a new kind of treasure — a modern-day gold shaped by vineyard, vintage, and craft.

Before the vines, there was gold. Before order, there was Diggers Law.

In the wild days of Central Otago’s gold rush, fortune seekers, rogues, opportunists and pioneers carved out claims along some of the richest rivers in the world. With little trust in distant authority, the diggers enforced their own rough and ready code — built on reputation, stern looks, hard words, and the occasional threat of rough handling.

Diggers Law Pinot Noir pays tribute to that fiercely independent spirit — a wine born of a land shaped by risk, resilience, and those bold enough to chase their chance.

Above the vines, the kārearea is doing more than watching - it’s working.

Kārearea, New Zealand’s native falcon, plays a direct role in protecting our vineyards. By controlling pest birds, it helps reduce crop loss and supports the health of the vineyard.

Fast, precise, and part of this landscape, its presence reflects a vineyard in balance - where quality is shaped not just by site and season, but by what lives alongside the vines.

At Bannock Brae, that balance matters.

Set between Mt Pisa and Lake Dunstan / Mata-Au, our vineyards sit within one of Central Otago’s most striking landscapes - shaped by elevation, water, and time.

The stillness of the lake and the presence of the mountains create a unique environment where the vines can thrive, guided by the land's natural rhythm. It’s here that some of our vines are found, carrying with them the character of this place.

A land shaped by movement, by tools, by time.

Remnants of the gold rush still rest quietly across Central Otago - a reminder of what once drew people here, and what still defines the land today. From weathered tools to old stonework and forgotten paths, the past is never far from the surface.

The landscape was reshaped by mining, leaving behind mineral-rich, free-draining soils that now form the foundation of our vineyards.

The tools may rest now, but the story remains - written into the soils that shape Bannock Brae wines, our modern-day gold.
