Thanks to generous donor support, we have an update on Yokhana from his father today! Yokhana, 8, traveled from Iraq to Cyprus earlier this month to receive care by Shriners Children’s medical professionals at the Eastern Mediterranean Pediatric Hub at the Paraskevaides Foundation’s clinic. Yokhana was born without arms and little hope to be self sufficient, without medical interventions. Unfortunately, these were not available to him in Iraq. In Cyprus, however, he received his first prosthetic arm, allowing him to feed himself for the first time, bringing tears to his father’s eyes. A few weeks later, he is now helping his father with chores back in Iraq. Yokhana still needs a surgery as well as another prosthetic arm with an elbow which will allow him even more mobility. We hope to bring him back to Cyprus in November. Please help kids like Yokhana and others whose lives can be forever changed with your support.
