Outdoor heat has a cost.

As communications networks expand deeper into neighborhoods and edge environments, more backup power systems are operating in outdoor cabinets where temperature is not controlled.

Over time, sustained elevated operating conditions can increase energy consumption, accelerate battery degradation and influence replacement interval stability. Those costs are not always visible at purchase. They often show up later through increased energy use, labor, travel and repeat maintenance visits, especially in hard-to-reach network locations.

To help operators better manage these challenges, EnerSys has launched the AlphaCell™ 4.0HP+ battery, engineered for outside plant deployments across North America.

Built on proven Thin Plate Pure Lead (TPPL) technology, AlphaCell™ 4.0HP+ batteries incorporate an integrated catalyst designed to improve electrochemical stability during float operation, help moderate float current demand and support more predictable performance over the battery’s service life.

Supported by an extended six-year warranty, AlphaCell™ 4.0HP+ batteries are designed for distributed outdoor, network-critical applications operating under variable environmental conditions.

We’re proud to share a closer look at the impact behind our recent RISE PA grant.

At our Horsham, Pennsylvania facility, this investment supports targeted upgrades designed to improve energy efficiency and operational performance, including:
• Enhanced building automation for smarter HVAC and lighting control
• High-efficiency rooftop heat pump systems
• LED lighting upgrades
• A new variable speed air compressor

These improvements are expected to deliver more than $45,000 in annual energy savings.

This is what progress looks like—focused investments that strengthen our operations and deliver real results.

Celebrating 25 years of partnership in the Greater Reading, PA community.

We were honored to welcome the Reading Chamber Alliance (GRCA) as they presented EnerSys with a commemorative anniversary gift recognizing 25 years of membership.

This Earth Day, we’re proud to highlight measurable progress across our operations.

At EnerSys, improving energy efficiency and optimizing resource use is a core part of how we deliver value for our customers and communities. Across our global footprint, teams are focused on reducing energy consumption, lowering costs, and strengthening performance.

That work is reflected in our recent recognition through the RISE PA program. EnerSys has been awarded a grant to support energy efficiency upgrades at our Horsham, Pennsylvania facility. These projects will modernize equipment, improve system performance, and reduce overall energy use—delivering more than $45,000 in annual energy savings.

We’re honored that our battery systems were among the technologies used to help outfit the spacecraft and support a safe and successful launch.
