As we continue celebrating Youth Month, we’re taking time to spotlight the journeys, growth, and voices of the young people helping shape the future. 💛

Meet Sihle, one of the young people contributing, learning, and growing through his internship journey at Beapo. In this conversation, he shares more about his experience so far, what he enjoys most, and advice for other young professionals stepping into their careers.

At Beapo, we believe in turning human potential into leadership. Sometimes growth begins with one opportunity, one person who believes in you, or one space that allows you to learn while becoming.

Every career starts somewhere, and every leader was once learning for the first time.

We’d love to hear from you: What is one piece of advice you would give to a young person starting their career journey today? 👇

At 10:55 , a 100-wagon train started loading. By 20:30, it was done. 🚆
Not only did we meet the target, we beat it by 5 hours.

When the train arrived at our client’s operation, Transnet Port Terminals , the goal was to complete loading within 15 hours. Our team saw an opportunity to improve the turnaround time and got to work.

By bringing in an additional Front-End Loader (FEL), another operator, and extra labour support, the team pulled together and delivered an incredible result:

✅ 100 wagons loaded
⏱️ Target: 15 hours
🚀 Completed in: 10 hours

What excites us most isn’t just the number on the clock. It’s seeing what happens when people take ownership, work together, and stay focused on the bigger picture. Behind every wagon loaded was a team committed to finding solutions, supporting one another, and getting the job done right.

At Beapo, we believe our role goes beyond supplying equipment and labour. We partner with our clients to help keep operations moving, improve productivity, and deliver results when they matter most.

Last night was a great example of that commitment in action.

To everyone on site who made this happen, thank you. Your hard work, adaptability, and dedication continue to show what Beapo is all about.
Promises made. Promises delivered. 👏

Youth Day is more than remembering history. It is remembering courage, honouring legacy, and choosing what we build next. 🇿🇦

On 16 June 1976, young people stood up for something bigger than themselves, for education, opportunity, and a better future. Their courage shaped generations.
Today, that responsibility continues.

With most of South Africa’s population under the age of 35, the future is already being shaped by young people every single day. Young people with dreams. Ideas. Purpose. Potential.

At Beapo, we believe youth are not only the leaders of tomorrow, they are changemakers of today.

We believe in creating spaces where young people feel seen, heard, equipped, and empowered. Spaces where confidence grows, leadership is developed, and potential becomes purpose.

Most importantly, we believe every young person carries God-given purpose, and when opportunity meets belief, lives can change. Legacy is not only about what we leave behind, but who we choose to build up along the way.

This Youth Day, we honour the courage of 1976 and celebrate the incredible potential of today’s youth. We see you. We believe in you. And we are committed to building a future where young people can thrive. ❤️

Happy Youth Day, South Africa.

We don’t build understanding from behind a desk, we build it from the ground up.

That means spending time on-site, standing with the teams, and really seeing what the work looks like in motion. From operators in front-end loaders to supervisors on the ground, every part of the operation matters, because every part keeps things moving.

We listen first. Not just to what’s said, but to what’s happening in the environment, the pressure points, the delays, the small things that can easily be missed but make a big difference.

Then we take that back into the business and act on it. Not as theory, but as real improvements that make the work easier, safer, and more efficient for the people doing it every day.

Because for us, it’s not about observing from the outside.
It’s about being part of the work, part of the solution, and part of the team that keeps things moving.

This is Beapo, grounded in the work, and built around the people who do it.

Yesterday, our Head of Marketing, Lindiwe Zulu Zulu, attended Transnet SOC SOC Supplier Day at Pier 1 in Durban, a valuable space to better understand what supplier partnerships with Transnet look like moving forward.

One thing stood out clearly:
Beyond the scale of opportunity (R46B+ annual spend), success comes down to preparation, reliability, and doing business the right way.

Here’s what stood out :👇🏽

✔️ Integrity matters
Transparent pricing, accurate documentation, and ethical business practices are non-negotiable. Trust is the foundation of long-term partnerships.

✔️ Growth & transformation matter
Transnet’s focus on B-BBEE and localisation continues to strengthen South African businesses. With initiatives like the R100 million support programme (EDP + NEF), more suppliers are being empowered to grow and scale.

✔️ Technology is changing procurement
New digital systems are set to speed up procurement significantly. The message is simple: stay compliant, stay updated, and be ready to move fast.

A key takeaway: many strong suppliers miss opportunities due to small avoidable gaps, missing documents, late submissions, or unsupported claims.
Preparation isn’t optional anymore. It’s a competitive edge.

At Beapo, this reinforces how we show up in every partnership. We focus on being a dependable long-term partner, staying compliant, responsive, and aligned with our clients’ procurement standards while building trust through consistency and delivery.

The bigger picture? Organisations like Transnet are opening doors for businesses that are serious, ready, and consistent.

If you work in supply chain, maintenance, equipment, or procurement, what’s helped you stay competitive?

Special thanks to the speakers and organisers for sharing valuable insights:

• Makhosazana Masibela (Acting General Manager: B-BBEE & Localization)
• Nikosi Khuzwayo (NEF: KwaZulu-Natal Regional Manager)
• Motsatsi Tlhiyane (CPO: Transnet Freight Rail)

Most people will never stand inside a terminal like Pendoring, but they are impacted by the work happening here every single day.

Operations like these help keep South Africa connected to global trade. Resources move from mines, onto trains, through terminals, and eventually into international markets. That movement supports industries, creates business activity, and helps money continue flowing through the economy.

When systems run efficiently, there are fewer delays, stronger productivity, and more confidence across the value chain. Businesses are able to operate better, exports move faster, and more opportunities are created along the way, from transport and operations to local jobs and surrounding communities.

This is why supply chain and logistics matter far beyond warehouses, trains, or machinery. It is part of how economies grow, how industries stay active, and how countries remain competitive in a changing global environment.

We see our role as more than keeping operations moving. It’s about understanding the bigger impact behind the movement and helping build systems that create long-term value for people, business, and South Africa as a whole.

According to Mining Weekly South Africa’s unemployment rate has now hit 32.7% in the first quarter, leaving more than eight million people without work.

What hits hardest is who’s carrying the heaviest burden:
Young people aged 15 to 24: 60.9% unemployed
Those aged 25 to 34: 40.6% unemployed

These aren’t just numbers. They’re young men and women who wake up every day ready to roll up their sleeves, learn new skills, and build something meaningful. But far too often, the door to real opportunity stays shut.
Meanwhile, the world of work is changing fast. AI and smarter machines are reshaping how we run operations, make decisions, and measure what real productivity looks like. In sectors like mining, logistics, and infrastructure, this creates a tough reality: we desperately need more people in the game, but we’re also redesigning the game itself to run leaner and more efficiently.
This is the tension we’re living with right now.

The conversation about jobs can’t stay stuck in the old script of “just grow the economy.” We need to get smarter about how we build things from the ground up.

How do we create efficient, high-performing operations that still leave real entry points for young people starting out?
How do we bring in powerful new technology without closing the door on the next generation?
How do we make genuine progress that doesn’t accidentally leave capable people behind?

We see this every day on the ground, on sites, busy warehouses, and real operations with real pressures. We sit with the constraints, the people, and the daily struggles. And we’ve come to believe the real answer isn’t just about scaling bigger and faster. It’s about designing systems more thoughtfully.
When we get that balance right, efficiency and access, something powerful happens.

We don’t just run better operations.
We open doors.

Honestly, it’s hard to put into words what this milestone really means. Over the last decade, there have been big wins, hard lessons, moments of uncertainty, growth, change, and so many people who have shaped this journey along the way.

What started with a vision has grown into something built by people, the teams who showed up, the partners who believed in us, the clients who trusted us, and the individuals whose growth stories remind us why we do what we do. The impact matters, but so do the relationships, the conversations, the small moments, and the people behind every milestone. That’s what 10 years really represents to us.

Through it all, we recognise God’s hand in this journey. In moments of uncertainty, there has been grace. In seasons of growth, there has been provision, wisdom, and favour. We remain grateful for the responsibility to lead with purpose and steward the vision we’ve been entrusted with, continuing to shape potential and create impact with intention and dominion.
To everyone who has been part of the Beapo journey, thank you. Your support, trust, and belief have helped shape who we are today. 10 years later, we’re still growing, still learning, and still deeply excited about what’s possible.

Here’s to the next chapter and the next 10 years of shaping potential together.

Welcome to Kendal in Mpumalanga! 🚂

This is where coal comes rolling in by truck from mines all over the region. It gets weighed, offloaded, carefully stacked into big stockpiles, and then loaded onto rail wagons with serious precision. Every single ton is tracked. Every move is measured.

From here, those wagons head off to power stations that keep our lights on, or down to export corridors so South Africa can reach global markets. It’s just one quiet operation, but it’s a vital link in a supply chain most of us never think about, even though we rely on it every day.

We’ve been on the ground here, seeing the whole process up close, and honestly, it’s pretty impressive. These inland terminals like Kendal are moving millions of tons of material every year, and most people have no idea they even exist!

So tell me… what part of the supply chain fascinates you the most? The mining side, the rail logistics, the ports, or something else? Drop your thoughts in the comments 👇

We believe growth starts from within, and that includes investing in the people who are just beginning their journey with us.

Today, Sihle Ndlovu , one of our talented interns, stepped up and led a technical training session on the evolution of tenders and delivered it with confidence and expertise that left the whole team impressed. 👏

This is exactly the kind of environment we strive to create at BEAPO, one where every team member, regardless of their stage in their career, is empowered to contribute, lead, and grow.

Today wasn’t just a training session. It was a reminder of the incredible talent within our team and what becomes possible when we invest in developing it.
