Like all good farmers, they started by regenerating the soil and cultivating the harmonious, full-of-life farm that is Sp

A morning planting trees with Angus and Dumi 🌳

This planting continues years of work to rewild our farm and restore more of the Cape Floral Kingdom. Our teams have planted thousands of trees across Spier over the years, with plenty more growing in the nursery and making their way into the soil.

This Arbor Week, Dumi shares why this work matters and how planting trees helps make more room for biodiversity on our farm.

As the seasons shift, the Wilds is waking up 🌼

This restored corner of our farm is home to a rich mix of fynbos, renosterveld and wetland vegetation, grown from thousands of indigenous plants propagated by our nursery team. It’s a living landscape, where seasonal blooms, birds, insects and wildlife flourish.

Every walk reveals something different. Take a wander on our farm to see the first signs of spring!

Art is weaved into every part of our farm, even the chicken coops 🐓

Farmer Angus Eggmobiles have become moving canvases across the pastures, bringing farming and contemporary South African art together.

In collaboration with the Spier Arts Trust, works by four artists now travel with the hens: Alfred Budaza, Asanda Kupa, Emma Aspeling and Xolile Mtakatya.

A little more colour in the landscape and another way art finds its place in everyday farm life.

The vines may be resting, but our vineyard team certainly isn’t!

While our vines take their seasonal rest, our vineyard team is hard at work pruning. Johan and Ivan show us what goes into this careful process, and why the work matters for the season ahead ✂️

Farmer Angus explains why we move our cows around the farm, and the incredible role they play in building healthy, living soil.
