After 20+ years in construction, from carpentry and joinery in South Armagh to senior BIM coordination on data centres, semiconductor fabs and infrastructure across the world, I’ve been building something bigger than a single consultancy.

That’s Farmer Tech Group. Here’s what we do

FIM (Farmer Information Modelling)
Our BIM consultancy, working out of Ireland and New Zealand with contractors across the globe. Coordination, modelling, and digital delivery on large-scale, complex projects. This is the hands-on knowledge behind everything else we build.

Farmitecture
Our architectural design practice. Thoughtful, buildable design from people who understand how a building actually goes together, from first sketch through to the model.

Farmer Apps
This is where the industry experience turns into tools. Two I’m especially excited about:

Plough: a Revit add-in built by someone who’s spent years in Revit and knows where the time goes. Everything sits in one clean ribbon tab, built to Ireland/UK standards first, with a free tier so people can actually use it. It’s being tested right now on live models, and modelling by text prompt is next on the list.

Quote Farmer: AI-powered construction cost estimating. Upload your BIM models, map your site, and get low/mid/high cost ranges, a programme estimate and local rates. It’s built for Ireland and NI first, with 33 currencies supported. We’re in the final stretch now, and launch is close.

The aim behind all of it is simple: construction is still buried in unnecessary steps, excess paperwork and slow processes. We’re building tools to strip that back so people can get on with the actual work.

What if you could go from a Revit model to cinematic architectural visualisation in minutes? I've been experimenting with something exciting behind the scenes at Farmer Tech Group.

Introducing a first glimpse of PLOUGH — a Revit plugin concept I'm developing to help architects and designers cut through repetitive workflows and explore the potential of AI-powered visualisation.

The experiment: I took a relatively simple conceptual tower model created in Autodesk Revit using text, selections, and prompts. No modelling. And explored how AI could transform it into a photorealistic architectural visualisation, complete with a Dublin city-centre setting, atmospheric lighting, realistic materials, and urban context.

The results have certainly got me thinking about what's possible.

The bigger vision? To bring powerful AI assistance to the Revit workflow, making it easier to explore design ideas, communicate concepts, and produce compelling imagery without the traditional time investment.

PLOUGH is still in its early development and exploration stages, but this is exactly the kind of capability I'm interested in building towards.

Two months ago I relocated from Christchurch, New Zealand to Forkill, South Armagh — back home after working on some of the world's largest construction projects across Ireland, the UK, the US, Saudi Arabia, and New Zealand.

I've been reaching out to the market since arriving, and I'll be honest — it's been quieter than expected. The contractor market has shifted. I get it.

But I want to be clear about what I bring, because "BIM Coordinator" undersells it.

I've led teams of 40. I've proposed and implemented design solutions on $20B semiconductor programmes. I've managed civil coordination for all below-ground packages on a €450M data centre. I've won and delivered BIM contracts independently across Stately homes, airports, semiconductor facilities, water treatment, and more.

I coordinate people as readily as I coordinate models.

At Farmer Information Modelling, we believe BIM should be about far more than producing a model.
Ultimately, someone has to build it.
That principle sits behind the way we approach every project.
DESIGN
Good coordination starts long before clash detection. Whether we're developing a concept, supporting an existing design team, or helping turn design intent into something practical, we look at the project with construction in mind.
COORDINATE
A clash-free model isn't necessarily a buildable model.
Our team brings experience from some of the world's largest and most complex semiconductor, data centre, advanced manufacturing and construction projects. We look beyond simply making services fit.
Can it be installed?
Can it be accessed?
Can it be maintained?
Does the sequence work?
And does the information actually give the people on site what they need?
DELIVER
The model ultimately has to become something useful.
Coordinated models. Detailed drawings. Shop drawings. Setting-out information. Site support. As-built information.
The goal is simple:
Move from producing drawings to producing coordinated, buildable information that helps people build.
FIM can support an existing team with individual drafters, modellers, coordinators and BIM managers, or provide a wider delivery team when a project needs additional capacity.
We don't expect a new client to simply take our word for it either.
Give us the opportunity to prove our value.

I am really enjoying being home and setting up an office in my home village. It's great to see how far my football club has come, and adding a new gym is amazing and really helping me get back into the swing of things. I did get a bit carried away with a design that has been floating around in my head for the club once I spent some time in the gym. So please allow my AI-generated extension to the club. Does anyone have a spare few million to develop it?

Big news from Farmer Tech Group— we've officially planted roots in Ireland! We have opened our office in Forkill, County Armagh.
We were promised a legendary Irish summer, and we've experienced all four seasons of it. Before lunch. On Monday.
Jokes aside, we're getting settled, and our doors are open. FIM, Farmitecture and Farmer Apps are up and running here, offering 3D modelling, design, drafting, construction consulting, BIM and Architectural services across the island and Europe.
