As summer winds down, we’ve been thinking back to the time our digital team spent with our client, (HALPS), out on the Hudson River.

So much of our client work involves a screen, but there is tremendous value in experiencing our clients’ missions firsthand—especially when the work is rooted in preserving a place and its history.

Our work with HALPS is about translating what makes the Lighthouse worth preserving into digital experiences that help more people understand it, care about it, and connect with it. Spending time there ourselves gave us a deeper understanding of the place behind the work and what we want audiences to feel when they experience it digitally.

We’re proud to help HALPS bring that experience beyond the Lighthouse itself and reach people in Hudson, Athens, and beyond.

AI is already finding its way into nonprofit work. The challenge is not whether teams will use it, but whether they will use it thoughtfully.

Our AI Committee recently explored Anthropic Academy’s AI Fluency for Nonprofits course, and one takeaway stood out: AI is most useful when people know how to guide it, review it, and decide what should stay in human hands.

For nonprofit teams considering AI, explore Anthropic's course through our blog via the link in bio.

Black Philanthropy Month is a reminder that philanthropy is strongest when it reflects the many voices and communities that shape it.

At Wingo NYC, that belief shapes how we approach our work and makes our partnership with especially meaningful.

GBA strengthens Black giving by connecting donors, elevating Black-led organizations, and expanding its visibility and impact.

We are proud to help these vital organizations build the foundational support they need to make a lasting difference.

Charitable giving doesn’t end after a donor passes. But too many nonprofits still treat planned giving like something to think about later.

In honor of National Make-A-Will Month, we took a peek inside Doug Wingo’s fundraising brain to hear how our Founder + Principal thinks organizations should approach legacy giving and where fundraisers may be missing opportunities.

Curious what Doug has to say?

Medical aid in dying is now available to eligible New Yorkers. A major victory years in the making.

This moment belongs to and the people who refused to give up on this work.

We had the privilege of working alongside End of Life Choices New York, and we are proud to celebrate this milestone with them. Their persistence, along with the courage of those who shared their stories, helped turn a long-fought goal into a real choice for New Yorkers facing the end of life.

Nonprofit work is not easy, but it matters every day. ✨

On National Nonprofit Day, we’re celebrating the organizations that communities turn to and the people who keep their missions moving.

For 30 years, Wingo NYC has been proud to be in nonprofits’ corner as they move that work forward.

Our founder, Doug Wingo, joined for a conversation as part of Lessons in Leadership.

Doug reflects on the experiences that have shaped his thinking about leadership and the work he has led at Wingo for more than 30 years.
