We are sad to hear about the recent passing of the great Danny Simmons. A celebrated poet painter, muralist, collector, community leader philanthropist and producer, Danny Simmons was an incredibly influential inspirational creative force for African American and contemporary art. Simmons was the co-founder of the Def Poetry Jam performance series and the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation.
The community has lost an incredibly talented generous and dedicated cultural leader. 🕊️
