Two wines. One vision. International recognition.

We are proud to share that our 2025 Fabian Reis Blanc and 2020 Fabian Reis Rouge have each been awarded a Bronze Medal at the 2026 Decanter Awards - one of the most respected and influential wine competitions in the world.

For us, this recognition extends far beyond a medal. It is a testament to the dedication of our vineyard and production teams, our commitment to sustainable farming practices, and the extraordinary potential of Niagara grown fruit. Every decision, from regenerative vineyard management and sustainable viticulture to thoughtful winemaking, is made with the goal of expressing our time and place as authentically as possible.

Bringing these wines to life required patience, nuance, and collaboration. The 2025 Blanc carefully balances varietal typicity alongside the art of assemblage, creating a wine of both vibrancy and depth. The 2020 Rouge, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec, was crafted to showcase structure, elegance, and the layered character of the Niagara Lakeshore terroir. Every component was selected and blended with intention, seeking harmony rather than dominance.

Perhaps most exciting is what this means for Canadian wine as a whole. With producers across Niagara, Ontario, British Columbia, Nova Scotia, Québec, and other emerging wine regions receiving international acclaim, it is clear that Canadian wine continues to earn its place on the global stage. Every medal awarded to a Canadian winery helps elevate the reputation of our industry, our growers, and our regions, bringing greater recognition to the world-class wines being produced from coast to coast.

Healthy vines start with healthy soils. 🌱

Over the past year, we've been trialing earthworm castings from , courtesy of Chris Paganis, in our young Dornfelder block. The results have been encouraging, with noticeable improvements in long-term vine growth, vigor, and overall viability.

Earthworm castings are a natural soil amendment that helps improve water retention, stimulate beneficial microbial activity, and provide slow-release, plant-available macronutrients and trace minerals, like potassium, nitrogen and phosphorus. By supporting deeper root development and enhancing natural disease resistance, these castings contribute to stronger vines and, ultimately, higher-quality fruit.

At Ferox, we're committed to continuously exploring sustainable vineyard practices that strengthen the health of our soils and the future of our vineyards. Because exceptional wines begin long before harvest - they start beneath our feet.

Honoured to host an inspiring exchange at Ferox with visiting Austrian wine producers, exploring how Canada, particularly Niagara and Ontario, is shaping the future of viticulture and cellar innovation.

The conversation spanned the real challenges Niagara producers face, including climate volatility, evolving grape suitability, and the region’s growing diversity of wine styles. We also explored key growth areas shaping today’s market: organic farming, non-alcoholic wine, and kosher and vegan winemaking - each reflecting changing consumer values and global demand.

A strong focus was placed on best practices in modern winemaking, from AI and data-driven vineyard management and flavour profiling, to experience-driven wine culture through immersive tastings and innovative visitor engagement.

We were proud to welcome and learn alongside and of , of Drea’s Wine Co., Lord Mayor Gary Zalepa representing the .on.the.lake, Bruno Reis of Compass Beverages, and many other respected voices from the international and domestic wine industry.

Meaningful dialogue, shared knowledge, and a collective commitment to progress - this is how regions grow together.
