We are excited to announce the opening of La Bonté at Neethlingshof Estate on 1 November. Situated in the historic 1814 Cape Dutch manor house, this produce-led “boere brasserie” dining experience is led by Head Chef Drikus Brink.

The seasonal à la carte menus blend French classicism with South African heritage, paired with exceptional estate and fine w**es. A welcoming destination for all, featuring dedicated kiddies' savoury and sweet menus and an outdoor play area.

A celebration of Pinotage, with the Stellenbosch W**elands as its backdrop.
On 21 November, the vineyards and sweeping landscapes of Neethlingshof will set the scene for the Pinotage Fun Run, organised by Runventures, bringing together an invigorating morning outdoors and the pleasure of enjoying exceptional South African w**e.

As the morning's activity gives way to a more leisurely pace, two distinctive expressions of Pinotage will be waiting to be enjoyed.

Our Neethlingshof Estate Pinotage, with its generous character and rich red-fruit appeal, offers a beautifully expressive interpretation of this proudly South African variety. For those drawn to something lighter, our Pinotage Rosé brings a refreshing vibrancy and an elegant, easy-drinking character to the occasion.

Two w**es, each with its own personality, reflect Pinotage's versatility and the pleasure of experiencing it where it is grown.

There are already some interesting signs emerging in the Neethlingshof vineyards. Our vineyard manager, Hannes, has observed particularly early budbreak in some of our younger Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc blocks, where the first shoots are making an early appearance this season.

It's a small but significant observation, and one that could point towards an earlier harvest in 2027.

Much still depends on how the growing season unfolds, but for Hannes and the vineyard team, these first signs offer valuable insight into the months ahead.

The next Neethlingshof vintage is already beginning to tell its story.

Hannes is watching the weather and the vines.
Spring might look like an easy time in the vineyards, but for vineyard manager Hannes, it means watching closely.

High humidity, combined with sudden changes from cool and dry to warm and humid conditions, has brought an increased risk of mildew this season.

Hannes and the vineyard team are monitoring the vines carefully and managing pest and disease pressure as the new growth develops.

It's one of the less visible parts of growing grapes and one of the many decisions being made long before another Neethlingshof vintage reaches the cellar.

Our Short Story Collection Owl Post Pinotage 2024 and Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 have both earned Gold at the Veritas Awards, recognition of two distinctive expressions of our Stellenbosch vineyards.

These awards honour the expertise of our viticulturist and w**emaking team, whose understanding of our vineyards and thoughtful work in the cellar bring each w**e’s character to life.

Cabernet Franc is a variety with a character all its own and often plays only a supporting role in Bordeaux-styled blends. Prized for its aromatic elegance, fresh red fruit, subtle herbal notes and fine structure, it can add a new dimension to a blend.

In our new Estate Prelum 2024, Cabernet Franc takes centre stage, making up 40% of the blend. Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon each contribute 22.5%, with Petit Verdot and Malbec completing the composition.

The result is a w**e of depth and finesse, where ripe cherry and blackcurrant meet darker plum, cedar and a gentle herbal lift. Velvety tannins and a long, layered finish bring it all together.
